GENERAL

Interests include photography (see website) and pursuing John Berger, Susan Sontag, and Roland Barthe's ideas on the ethics, nature and substance of the photographic image, post-colonial literature and theory, Byzantine history, stoic philosophy, Pessoa and Camus's writing and their links with existentialism, the effects of digital media on cultural, social and personal identity, how to make the perfect Gazpacho as I've lost my mother's superb recipe, and hiking at a leisurely pace in beautiful places. Essentially, a roving, restless and pretty unfocused intellectual and cultural appetite.
